Motorola notified us in March 2009 of its intention to increase the Professional & Commercial Radio (PCR) portfolio and associated accessories, by up to 8%.
This increase was being driven by the continued weakness of the Pound when compared with US Dollar and the Euro, which constitutes the majority of product costs. Motorola committed to monitor the exchange rates closely before deciding on the level of the increase.
We are pleased to say that Motorola has decided not to implement any increase on the PCR portfolio at this time. The UK is Motorola’s largest market for Licenced Two-way radio in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Some of Motorola’s major competitors (ICOM, YAESU, KENWOOD) increased their pricing some months ago. Motorola's decision to support its customers by not passing on an increase is extremely positive news for us and you in these challenging times.
Though some of the special offers are now drawing to close please watch for some new offers coming in mid July 2009.
We hope through these difficult times things are going well for you and wish you every success for the rest of 2009.
