Urgent Safety Information - Genuine Motorola ATEX Equipment
Motorola has become aware that ATEX portable radio equipment purporting to having been manufactured by Motorola is being advertised in trade magazines.
As or an end user you should be aware of the following;
o Motorola ATEX hand portable equipment assembled in a facility outside a Motorola ATEX approved factory is not certified, approved or warranted by Motorola
o Motorola ATEX hand portable equipment repaired or refurbished outside a Motorola ATEX approved facility is not certified, approved or warranted by Motorola
o Motorola retains records of all the serial numbers of equipment it has manufactured and repaired therefore this equipment is fully traceable. Equipment claiming by a supplier to be refurbished can therefore be validated.
o Motorola products are always supplied to its Distributors in packaging which contains manuals, safety documentation and labelling which is linked to the products within. Packing lists with the serial number data and order number information is also supplied with the shipment.
Motorola are extremely concerned that the End Users may have been supplied with ATEX portable radio equipment thats hasnt been manufactured by Motorola making them ungenuine items.
